Four birth services. Completely supported.

Whether you’re a new or seasoned parent, you’re in the right place to be supported from pregnancy through postpartum.

Birth.

Supporting mom’s during pregnancy and birth is what I do. As a doula, I will be available to support you from 37 weeks, on. During labor, I will be with you for continuous support, no matter how long it takes. I am here to support both mom and dad, in whatever way that looks for the two of you!

Childbirth Education.

I offer both Private Childbirth Education classes (in the comfort of your home!) and group classes. The group class is planned quarterly, while the private class is planned for what works best for both of us. This gives you the comfort of learning about the upcoming child in whatever environment works best for you!

Postpartum & Planning.

It doesn’t matter which number baby you just had. There’s an adjustment period. There’s gonna be a lack of sleep, days where it’s nearly impossible to get supper on the table, and there’s no such thing as “bouncing back” immediately after birth. For some moms they feel better in a few days, and some take months to feel like their energy is near normal. I can help this transition be a little bit easier on you!

Encapsulation.

Placenta Encapsulation may be a completely new concept for you, but many women have reaped the benefits of taking placenta capsules right after their birth. This service is done within 48 hours after your baby is born, so you can begin taking the capsules as soon as possible. If you’re interested, hit the link below to learn more!

FAQ’s

There can be a lot of questions surrounding what a doula is, what I can do and more.

Here are a few answered:

Is a doula the same thing as a midwife? Do I need one if I have a midwife?

No, doulas and midwives are not the same. We both are here to support you during pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum. But your doula does not perform medical tasks, such as vaginal exams or fetal heart monitoring, give medical advice or diagnose conditions, or catch the baby.

Will a doula take over my husband’s or mother’s place?

No. A doula supports the whole family. From making sure dad gets a break to eat or sleep, to helping grandma take care of littles in the other part of the house. Your family knows you best and your doula knows birth. We are the perfect team to help you through this journey.

Can a doula help if I want an epidural?

Yes. Even if you’re planning on getting an epidural, you will benefit from support and help with coping during labor until the time comes to get it. During the placement your doula can support you and your birth partner. After it’s placed, there are still lots for a doula to do! Such as suggesting different positions to encourage labor progress, continuing emotional and educational support, and giving dad a chance to take a good nap because he knows mom has continuous support.

If I have a cesarean birth, could I still get support from a doula?

For both a scheduled and unexpected cesarean, the support of a doula is just as important as any other time. She’ll be there to answer any questions, support emotionally, and also help out after the baby is born. This is an especially good time to look into postpartum doula support!

When should I hire a doula?

There’s no set time during pregnancy to give a doula a call. But calling earlier during pregnancy will give you a better chance at finding a doula with an opening. Most doulas limit the number of clients they’ll book per month. They don’t want to over book and miss a birth! But if you’re nearing the end and have decided to go for it, don’t hesitate to give a call!
